GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 342366
unable to create additional local address books
Last modified: 2013-09-13 00:52:50 UTC
Please describe the problem: I want to create additional address books (for example, to hold the automatically generated contact entries for people I reply too, so they don't contaminate my normal addressbook of people I actually care about), but I can't Steps to reproduce: 1. choose "contacts" view 2. right click "Personal" under "On this computer" (can't right click anywhere) 3. choose "new address book" 4. In the dialog that opens, type something as the name Actual results: The "OK" button stays disabled Expected results: The "OK" button should become enabled and can be clicked on to create a new address book Does this happen every time? Everytime Other information: In addition to the "new address book" in the RMB menu, I found "new address book" in the "new" toolbar/menu button, after searching all over the place. It is not immediatly understandable what that functionality is doing there, near "new message" and "new contact" and I think that it should be available from the standard menus as well, as its not really obvious that one needs to right click a current address book to create another.
can you please try to disable any groupwise plugins and try again? thanks in advance. (you do NOT need to click on a current address book to create another. to me it is very obviuos and understandable what that functionality is - to create a new address book, it's even the same naming.)
I disabled groupwise plugins, but the problem did not go away. I did manage to create a new local address book after disabling the "exchange operations" plugins (even with all groupwise plugins enabled). So I guess this bug should be "Can't create additional local address book when exchange operations plugin enabled".
Which version of Evolution you are using? Fix is committed on 2006-04-17. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 338198 ***
I'm using version 2.6.1, which comes with Fedora Core 5. Your fix date sounds way to recent to be included in Fedora Core 5.
