GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 341598
Dropdown menu cleanup
Last modified: 2006-05-17 15:37:31 UTC
Please describe the problem: When opening a menu in the main bar ("Movie" etc) and leaving it again *without* selecting an entry (e.g. by clicking into the viewing area or moving the mouse over one of the other entries in the menu bar), the respective menu is not cleared (i.e. stays on screen and is partly overlapped by the newly opened menu ), but *ONLY* if the background is *not* covered by a movie (i.e. the movie is not using up the whole viewing area) Steps to reproduce: 1. Resize the movie (press 'T') to minimize it till it is well right of the rightmost menu bar entry "Help" 2. Open a menu ("Movie", "View") etc 3. Move the mouse over one of the other menu bar entries (i.e. leave the first menu open and do not click any entry in there) OR click into the viewing area Actual results: The area occupied by the menu - which is normally cleared when hovering over another main menu bar item - is not cleared, i.e. some remains of the menu stay on screen (sometimes partly overlapped by another open menu, depending on where the mousepointer is moved) Expected results: Clearing of the background Does this happen every time? yes, if the movie is small enough and until the window is minimized/shaded/ overlapped by another window or otherwise hidden and then shown again (this naturally cleans up the background) Other information: I do have a screenshot of the problem, if necessary :o)
