GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 341215
Add php language support to gtksourceview
Last modified: 2009-01-19 19:52:03 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #111060 +++ PHP support is broken. PHP tags do not close in PHP editting with version included in 1.6.x. It doesn't seem like php.lang has enough to properly describe php like older versions. This bug is also in 1.4.x with version included with ubuntu as well.
I have screenshots of scream and gedit and my C# gtksourceview# unit testing app showing the issues.
Could you please attach a PHP file breaking gtksourceview syntax highlighting? Could you please provide a patch for php.lang ?

email me (or comment and CC me) if you need anything else. I'm using a really really old php.lang file that kind of works but the new concept in the new one is flawed but I'm not sure of a good regex that would fix it.
Here are a pair of gsv2.0 .lang files for php and for html that fix this problem and many other outstanding bugs in php and html modes (html comments are still only conformant to xml, not the full html comment spec)
Is there still a problem, with our new fancy files?
