GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 341086
Mouse pointer highlighting breaks keyboard shortcuts
Last modified: 2006-05-30 10:57:06 UTC
Please describe the problem: Enabling mouse pointer highlighting (when pressing the control key) in the mouse preferences breaks any keyboard shortcut which uses the control key. Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable keyboard shortcut which uses the control key (Desktop->Preferences->Keyboard Shortcuts) 2. Test the keyboard shortcut 3. Enable "Highlight the pointer when you press Ctrl" in the "Cursor" tab in Mouse Preferences (Desktop->Preferences->Mouse Preferences 4. Test the keyboard shortcut again Actual results: The keyboard shortcut isn't actived and when performed while focus is on a terminal, charactors are printed out Expected results: Keyboard shortcut should work Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Not sure if I filed it under the correct category; I apologize in advance.
Control-center might be the right product for this. Also confirmed on Ubuntu Dapper. When "Highlight the pointer when you press Ctrl" is enabled, I need to press the shortcut twice to activate the action.
