Please describe the problem:
With two books (Book1 and Book2) open, it is possible to reference from one to
the other -- e.g. have a cell in Book1 with formula '=[Book2.gnumeric]Sheet1!A1'
that resolves correctly.

Close Book2 however, and the formula is clobbered with #REF...

I don't think anyone is currently working on this.  Basically to get this
working we would open the workbook, minus the GUI.

That is not a huge project.

FYI: my gnumeric also doesn't ref cells between open files -- just made a bug for it
