GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 339572
Wrong icon for "Trash" in mailer component
Last modified: 2006-04-24 20:19:47 UTC
Please describe the problem: The mailer uses the wrong icon here... I guess it is sopposed to show a trash bin, but in reality the "delete" icon is used. With themes like tango, which don't feature a tras bin as the "delete" icon, this looks really strange Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Created attachment 64203 [details] Look of treash with tango theme this shows the "delete" action's icon used as the trash icon.
hi michael, which ditribution is this?
Well, AFAIK, this is a bug in Tango as this icon shows up in a bunch of places around GNOME where it really should be the trash icon and not this one... So I'm inclined to NOTGNOME'ing this... Perhaps some Tango people should be CC:ed though?
it's actually an evo bug, as it sues the delete icon theme name rather than trash. there's a patch for it in our packages I think (dobey wrote it iirc), I guess it just hasn't made it into whatever packages the OP is running (has it made it into cvs?)
Evo isn't the only app that does it, IIRC, a lot of parts in GNOME get the wrong icon with Tango... This isn't the right forum though, do you guys have a place for us to continue this discussion?
I'm seeing this in Evo 2.6.x (Ubuntu Dapper) as well as my self-compiled Evo CVS HEAD. Don't think it's a Tango problem, apps (like Evo) are just using the wrong icon. Note that with Tango, the delete action in the toolbar also has this red circle icon, whereas with the standard gnome theme, it has a recycle bin here, too. I'm not in the mood of finding the place in evo's source tree, but perhaps someone knows where to find the line in question and can tell us which icon is used? gtk-delete? Best to ask dobey I guess.
