if a window is passed the top limit of the screen dragging the window from the borders to make it bigger does not work.

clicking on the border with the left mouse button brings the contextual menu of the window manager (that with minimize, maximize, etc) instead of letting me drag it to make it bigger or smaller.

Use Alt+F8 or Alt+middle-click or select resize from that menu.  ;-)
