Holding shift and arrowing across text does not highlight/select the text, which
is rather unhelpful. 

Other information:
is this a bug in the implementation of the text component, or does it really not
have a select method????

It really does not have a select method. Do you want to be helpful and write one?

to remove "0.95-pre7" I need to shuffle even closed bug to a different version ...
