Description Nikos Kouremenos 2006-04-04 17:04:10 UTC
Please describe the problem:
it's very common when writing docstrings with ''' to change to new line or to
include a ' somewhere in the setence. both break gedit 2.14.1 and syntax
coloring is very bad. this was ok in 2.12

Steps to reproduce:
1. '''I LOVE
	GEDIT'''
2. '''Someone's broken this'''

Actual results:
in 1. second line is without string color

in 2. s borken this is without string color

Expected results:
should have correct color [this easy bugreport starts to irritating :D]

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
Gedit 2.14.1 rocks

Yes, this is a known limitation of the current highlight engine of gtksourcview.

The good news is that a more powerful highlight engine is under developement, so this will hopefully be fixed soon.
