Description Bruno Santos 2006-04-04 16:56:31 UTC
Distribution: Ubuntu 6.06 (dapper)
Package: rhythmbox
Severity: major
Version: GNOME2.14.0 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: Rhythmbox crashes while importing files to library
Bugzilla-Product: rhythmbox
Bugzilla-Component: Importing
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.14.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:
While importing a directory with music files, rhythmbox crashed.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Start rhythmbox
2. It'll start to update the library
3. At some point it crashes

Expected Results:
The directory is scanned for new files and the new audio files should be
added to the library

How often does this happen?
Always

Additional Information:
This outputs to stdout:
(rhythmbox:12509): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_pad_activate_pull:
assertion `old == GST_ACTIVATE_NONE' failed

RhythmDB-ERROR **: file rhythmdb.c: line 2416
(rhythmdb_entry_set_internal): assertion failed: (g_utf8_validate
(g_value_get_string (value), -1, NULL))
aborting...

Can it be non audio files causing the trouble? Trying to load a non
audio file as it was one and at some point an internal error occurs?
