GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 336814
no obvious way to play an already inserted DVD
Last modified: 2006-04-01 19:05:19 UTC
if a dvd is already inserted, you can see a nice icon on your desktop. However, clicking on this icon provides you with a cryptic folder containing stuff like "audio" and "video". (and it's really confusing for most users) In fact, there's no obvious way to play the dvd. (you have to find totem in your menu the, once in totem, play the DVD from the file menu ! not intuitive at all !) nautilus should launch totem on the DVD when clicking on the icon for all video dvds. (a right-click -> explore could remain) Ubuntu related bug : https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/37534
