Description Juan José Sánchez Penas 2006-03-29 14:31:12 UTC
When one does a redirect, the 'From' field is set to the default mail account,
and allows selecting any of the other accounts, as for a normal composition.
However, in the case of a redirect, the original 'From' is kept, and this field
is only used for selecting the SMTP server and account that are going to be
used. The fact of calling it both times 'From' is a bit confusing.

Therefore, I think the label 'From' could be changed to 'Sender Account', or
something similar, and probably add a new 'From' field that would be fixed to
the original sender of the message. Just a suggestion, sure the developers have
better ideas about how to improve the UI for this case. Thanks!

Confirming. "send via" or something, rather than "From"...
Comment 2 Karsten Bräckelmann 2006-03-29 14:39:59 UTC
Likely Composer, which is GtkHTML. Not sure, though.
Comment 3 Jeffrey Stedfast 2006-03-29 17:12:51 UTC
nah, it's evo mailer.

I would suggest just re-labeling the items to be Resent-* (Resent-From/Resent-To/Resent-Cc/etc)

restoring previous version information.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new bug report ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
