Description Egmont Koblinger 2006-03-24 16:43:31 UTC
If I use TABs in a text file, the print preview is still perfect, but the
actual print on the paper on in the PS file contains a rectangle at the
first column of the area jumped over by that tab.

See the screenshot, it contains two windows: a gedit preview window, and the
result of the print to PS file shown by evince.

I can reproduce this bug.
It seems to me a bug in gnome-print.
We need to investigate a bit.
Comment 3 Paolo Maggi 2006-05-01 10:31:16 UTC
This problem is not due to gedit or gtksourceview since the code on our side did't change.
It is probably due to some change in libgnomeprint or most probably in pango.

I think this is a severe bug since in practice it makes printing in gedit unusable.

Moving to libgnomeprint.

Yes, this is a bug in gnome-print accessing Pango's backend interface. And we changed some bits there. I've already submitted a patch to gnome-print in the other bug...
