When adding a contact, there's no field "birthday", that if present, could pop
up an automatic alarm, with no need to configure it.

err... i don't get that sentence. what do you miss exactly?
is this a duplicate of bug 260853?

The Contact Editor does have a field for birthday. Please describe you issue giving way more detailed information.
