GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 334556
Change the text around smart bookmarks to 'Search <title> for <text>'
Last modified: 2016-10-07 21:28:15 UTC
Please describe the problem: Wherever you can use smart bookmarks in Epiphany, the title of the bookmark is used as the item to select. Deskbar uses "Search <title> for <text>." Overall this means that at least some of the time my bookmarks don't make sense. I would suggest that ephy copies deskbar's behaviour; it's less flexible, but means you don't have to think about the name. The places to change are both in the location bar drop-down, and in the context menu (which doesn't make sense anyway: "Look Up GNOME Dictionary...") Thanks! Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Sounds like a good idea, I find the gray area of my smart bookmarks pretty ugly...
Looks like Deskbar implements something they call Cuemiac (in /usr/lib/python-2.4/site-packages/deskbar/ui in Dapper), looks complex for the simple mortal.
Setting to enhancement.
Hi, the bookmarks code has been rewritten from scratch. When you have a convenient opportunity to test the new version of the code (which will be present in Epiphany 3.23.1) please check to see if your issue is still a problem, and reply here. Thanks!
