Description Ross Burton 2006-03-07 09:51:26 UTC
[from http://bugs.debian.org/354826]

A friend of mine has a contact named xYz@foo, when i try to add him to
my roster it is added as xyz@foo (all lower case). When he writes to me
i get his messagges from a different account which is xYz@foo (note the
proper case). I actually can't subscribe to other contacts but they are
subscribed to me, so they see me online but i don't.

Then i'm trying to remove this contact but i can't: i got any message
in the console with $ LM_DEBUG=net gossip, just "SEND:". When i try to
get contact information i get:

** (gossip:3488): CRITICAL **: gossip_protocol_get_vcard: assertion `GOSSIP_IS_PROTOCOL (protocol)' failed

don't know if this is related / useful. BTW, i cannot rename this
contact.

The same on 0.10-1, was fine with 0.9-1.

This problems started around 26 feb when jabber.org changed server
software. I'm not sure about the date though. Could be related?
