evolution should load images in html images
Last modified: 2009-02-11 09:55:39 UTC
Please describe the problem: Evolution seems to ignore images attached to an email when an HTML message is received and "never load images from the internet" is enabled. They should be loaded Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
*** Bug 333717 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
uh... except the images are not from the internet and therefor the option doesn't apply to them, so no - I have to disagree.
If I receive an HTML e-mail which contains images (and they are attached to the image), then the privacy option which prevents images from the internet being downloaded should not apply to those images.
"they are attached to the image" -> "they are attached to the e-mail"
oh, sorry - I got what you were saying backwards. yes, you are right.
UNCONFIRMED?
Please can we mark this as confirmed?
Bumping version to a stable release.
Works for me fine when the image is inlined in the message. Can someone attach here a message where it doesn't work? I test on 2.23.x.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug; however, closing due to lack of response of the reporter, sorry. if you still see this issue with a current release of evolution (2.24.x or later), please reopen. thanks in advance.
Reopening, I got to reproduce some sort of similar thing and found the issue.
Created attachment 128028 [details] [review] proposed evo patch for evolution; It was possible to have stored incomplete or broken files in an image cache, which leaded to an "unknown icon" in a mail. This fixes it.
Just for your information, the patch doesn't clear already stored broken images from a cache, they will be redownloaded next day (the expire time is 24 hours), or when you clear cache manually.
Seems fine to me. Trunk/Stable
