Description John Spray 2006-03-05 11:29:26 UTC
The archos GMini XS202 is a USB mass storage device, identified by:
usb.vendor_id = 0xe79
usb.product_id = 0x1206

The device supports mp3 and wma.

The music lives in /Music/, with arbitrary folders and filenames. Spaces in filenames are supported.

The playlists are in m3u format and live in "/Playlists/Some Playlist.m3u"

Here is complete sample playlist that ships on the device:

/Music/Danielle Davis/Danielle Davis/Outta My Dreams.mp3
/Music/Steve Pride And His Blood Kin/Pride on Pride/Emmanuel.mp3
/Music/Wes Burden/Brave New World/Mirror.mp3
/Music/Tony Kaltenberg/On the Wing of the Great Spaceship/Teeter-Totter.mp3

Hope that's enough information.

HAL in cvs recognises the device, and I've filed freedesktop bug 6462 which contain information about reading the playlists. All we need to do on the Rhythmbox side is make use of the playlist info that HAL reports, which is bug 333845.
