GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 332783
There are ghosts in the Gimp (spooky)
Last modified: 2008-01-15 13:05:43 UTC
Please describe the problem: I use Gimp for Windows, the latest version. There seem to be ghosts in it. Sometimes it happens that something that looks like a transparent icon (although it is too fast to be seen properly) moves across Gimp windows. Without me touching anything. Looks like some item drag-n-dropped to wrong place returns home, but I didn't drag anything. Steps to reproduce: 1. Just work with the Gimp and watch carefuly. 2. It usually happens when you stop working with the Gimp for a while. Actual results: A ghost appears. Sometimes. Expected results: I wouldn't expect any ghosts in my computer. Does this happen every time? No. It is a new Moon tonite. But it happened earlier too. Other information:
I think this is a duplicate of bug #317992. Can you watch the movie attached to bug #326122 and confirm that this is what you are seeing? I will now mark this one as duplicate, if what you're seeing differs from the movie please reopen this bug. Thanks, Simon *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 317992 ***
It is really similar. I will add additional comments to the older report.
No, I don't think this is what the bug reporter is talking about. You know how, when you drag-n-drop something onto an invalid target, you see the dnd symbol float back to its origin? Well, sometimes I have seen that happen for no apparent reason (with IE? Not sure.), and I think the bug reporter is describing the same thing. I haven't seen it with GIMP, though, so I think it's a Windows issue rather than a GIMP issue.
