GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 332665
"Select Contacts from Address Book" doesn't work fine with non-ASCII names
Last modified: 2006-02-27 18:35:37 UTC
Please describe the problem: In "Select Contacts from Address Book" dialog, when you have a contact with a non-ASCII name (like Persian names) and you want to add him, the name doesn't show properly. It encodes the name to MIME encoding format (like "=D9=88=D9=89..."). Steps to reproduce: 1. Add a person in your contacts and name him with Persian characters like "هومن مسگری". 2. Open a new mail message (Ctrl+M). 3. Click on "To:" field to open "Select Contacts from Address Book" dialog. 4. Select that person (with Persian name) from 'Contacts' list and double click on it to move it to "To:" list. Actual results: It shows the name in a MIME encoded format. Expected results: It should show the name in its original letters. Does this happen every time? Yes! Other information: Look at the screenshot (will attach) to find out more.
