Please describe the problem:
When opening jpegs that are in the "pub" directory, eog crashes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. have jpeg in pub
2. open it

Thanks for reporting.
The trace is the same as in bug 322454, which is a duplicate of bug 311925.
This should be fixed in Gnome 2.12.2 (and newer releases).
