GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 332484
Draging over desktop icons does not always activate those items
Last modified: 2010-06-11 16:38:26 UTC
Please describe the problem: Draging over desktop icons does not always activate those items, instead it places the draged item on top of the target. Steps to reproduce: 1. Drag a file over the trash bin Actual results: Sometimes the file does not get trashed. It stays on top of the trash bin, obscuring it. Expected results: Does this happen every time? no Other information:

Thanks for your bug report! Does the trash icon color change when you hover over it? Maybe you didn't drop it to on trashcan but right next to it.
The trash can does not change colour. Sometimes the file/directory is completely over the trash, obscuring it 100%, and it does not activate the trash. This only seems to happen on the desktop.
The problem is caused by the fact the mouse pointer does not touch the Trash icon. Can we really consider this as a bug ???
We haven't had any other reports of this bug. It sounds like the kind of thing which will be fixed by having semi-transparent icons on drag and drop. Closing as not a bug. Feel free to report back if you disagree though.
