Description Vincent Untz 2006-02-23 10:04:57 UTC
I upgraded to the 0.10 version and after entering my account informations, it didn't work: connection failed, but I was not told why. It turned out I hadn't specified the "/thing" in my jid.

Gossip should detect this and automatically append one when connecting, IMHO.

I have fixed this. It duplicates this bug #331664 but I also need to check a few more things before I mark it as fixed (like making sure things work with no ~/.gnome2/Gossip directory).

Now it will composite an error icon over the account button (like in any other error condition) and the tooltip will explain the problem. This reminds me, the tooltip majorly sucks rocks, and I am thinking about putting this error as a second line under accounts in the accounts window (like we do for the group chat join dialog).
