Comment 12 Andrea Antolini 2006-03-22 08:14:58 UTC
Confirm this bug also on GNOME 2.14.0, on my linux box:

Slackware 10.2
GTK+ 2.8.16 / glib 2.10.1 / cairo 1.10.2 (all compiled)
GNOME 2.14.0 compiled from scratch

The bug is always reproducible, and happens with any kind of font I use..
Comment 13 Vincent Untz 2006-03-22 08:29:35 UTC
Gah. I still can't reproduce...
Comment 14 lsof 2006-04-20 19:24:26 UTC

I've tried to debug this two or three days ago, and I couldn't see why this is happening. We're using GtkMessageDialog and it seems the title doesn't have <big> when the dialog is realized. It's redrawn after one second because of the timeout and we have the correct <big> at this point.

Weird.

I think in this bug report, we have mixed two issues present in the logout window:

1) font size of string "Log out of this system now? change in size width just window appear and goes smaller after a second.

(screenshot are clear examples)

If can be useful , I noticed that , this issues appear more noticeable, if you use font with size under 10 points (e.g. 8 point)If you set font size to 10 points or more , issue is not present (or less evident :-)

2) The other problem is related to the countdowun string update every 10 second... the lenght of string "You will be in...." (in pixel) change and the windows size is udpate as conseguence

Maybe using a monospace font for this string can be solve the issue..

Bye
Andrea

Comment 26 Michael Monreal 2008-06-17 09:49:15 UTC
I reported the dupe because I first noticed this after upgrading to 2.23.x (which has the dialogs as part of gnome-session). I'm sure (well not 100% but quite) that this never happened using the 2.22 dialog. I also checked on my other box, which still uses 2.22, and I don't see the problem there.
Comment 27 Lucas Rocha 2008-06-25 19:50:29 UTC
Can you still reproduce this? I was not able to see that...
Comment 28 Michael Monreal 2008-06-26 14:43:53 UTC
Yes I still see it happening with today's trunk.
Comment 29 André Klapper 2020-10-30 14:32:12 UTC
Assuming that this problem is obsolete nowadays.

If you can still reproduce this problem with a recent version (currently: 3.38) of GNOME / gnome-session, then please report this at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/issues/ and follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines - thanks a lot!
