Description Thomas Winwood 2006-02-17 05:36:16 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If the United Kingdom keymap is selected at runtime then gnome-settings-daemon
sprays a stream of warnings about missing entries in the keymap and crashes with
an error message I did not have the presence of mind to capture. If the US
English keymap is then chosen the daemon loads and the UK map can be chosen
safely, however this is horribly nonintuitive to the user who sees only that
little of their desktop appears to have loaded.

I am running the latest Ubuntu Dapper development release.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select the United Kingdom keymap in System->Preferences->Keyboard, Layouts tab.
2. Reboot.

Actual results:
gnome-settings-daemon fails to load, spews errors in terminal when run manually.

Expected results:
gnome-settings-daemon loads normally.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.
