Description Antoine Dopffer 2006-02-12 17:36:06 UTC
Hello,
it would be nice if devhelp has a full-text search feature.
Comment 1 chuchiperriman 2007-02-02 12:37:44 UTC
I'm looking for this feature too. Sometimes, when search an object, you need search a string in the page. For example "enable" in GtkWidget because to disable a widget, the function is gtk_widget_set_sensitive. I think that this is esay to implement...
Comment 2 Mikael Hallendal 2007-02-02 13:37:58 UTC
It's not that trivial but if you know the C++ API of Gecko/Mozilla you can probably implement it pretty easily.

The reason it hasn't been added yet is that neither me or Richard does or had time to look into it enough to add it.
Comment 3 chuchiperriman 2007-02-02 16:57:19 UTC
I don't know gecko APi so i can't implement it.

If you have no time, don't worry anyone say you to do it. I only said it because I think that there are another applications with the search feature implemented and perhaps can help you (or help me or help him).

In any case, thanks to respond us.
Comment 4 Mikael Hallendal 2007-02-02 18:21:07 UTC
Was meant mostly as informative that it's not as trivial as it looks in case someone wants to take it on.
Comment 5 Cosimo Cecchi 2007-10-21 18:08:01 UTC
I do not understand in what this request is different than what you get with CTRL+F...
Do we want a "search into every word of the manual" or "serach into every word of all manuals" function?
Comment 6 chuchiperriman 2007-11-27 14:09:09 UTC
DevHelp have this functionality now!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot!!!
Comment 7 Richard Hult 2007-12-19 18:52:34 UTC
Aaah right, this is a dup of another bug, will close. I though it was about full text searching of the complete set of documentation, but it's not.
