GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 330011
ogg theora files assumed as ogg vorbis files
Last modified: 2006-02-05 18:17:18 UTC
Distribution: Ubuntu 5.10 (breezy) Package: nautilus Severity: Normal Version: GNOME2.12.1 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu Synopsis: ogg theora files assumed as ogg vorbis files Bugzilla-Product: nautilus Bugzilla-Component: Metadata Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Description: Description of Problem: when looking to an Ogg Theora video file with nautilus, the properties dialog says it is an Ogg Vorbis audio file, which is wrong. Also, it is impossible to dissociate ogg/theora and ogg/vorbis for application handlers in gnome. Well, dissociating Ogg files into ogg/theora and ogg/vorbis can be a problem since there is only one official "application/ogg" mime type, but anyway, nautilus magic type recognition should at least not say theora files are vorbis files. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. $ nautilus 2. right click on an ogg theora video file -> properties 3. dialog says: Type: audio Ogg Vorbis Actual Results: dialog says "Type: audio Ogg Vorbis" Expected Results: Type should be "video Ogg Theora" or maybe simply "multimedia Ogg" How often does this happen? always (100%) Additional Information: - maybe it is bound to libmagic ? -maybe bound to medusa ? - problem with the only one application/ogg mime type ? ------- Bug created by bug-buddy at 2006-02-05 15:44 -------
