GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 329979
"Save as" attempts to replace a non-existant file
Last modified: 2008-01-15 14:05:33 UTC
Please describe the problem: When trying to save a previously created document under a new name using the "Save as" option, GIMP 2.3.6 gives a warning dialogue saying that the non-existant newly named image already exists and asks if you wish to replace the file. Steps to reproduce: 1. saving a previously created document under a new name using the "save as" option 2. 3. Actual results: see above Expected results: warning should only appear if the "save as" document has the same name as original Does this happen every time? yes Other information:
I can't reproduce this problem, so we will need more information from you, specifically: 1) What OS and version are you using? 2) What version of Gtk+ are you using? 3) What is the name of the image you had this problem with, and, if it isn't obvious from the name, what type of image (jepg, gif, etc)? Has this only happened with one image, or with several images of different types? 4) What name did you try to save it using? 5) I presume that you *did* verify that there really was no existing image with the name you were trying to use? That should be enough to get us started.
See bug 309729 and resolve as a duplicate if this one fits.
I am using Windows XP pro sp/2 and GTK+2.8.9 I was trying to save a jpeg image "title.jpg" as "title-2.jpg" as well as any different variation (title2.jpg, title2a.jpg, etc.) No, there was only the original file in the folder I was saving the new file.
