Description Ivan Gyurdiev 2006-02-04 22:47:03 UTC
Please describe the problem:
There is no more "Save Session" button on the log out dialog.
This is a problem, because I don't understand how to save the current session.

The Session preferences dialog has an option which says "Ask on logout," but I
don't get asked any such question. If I make changes to the session in "Current
Session", they don't become permanent, and are reset after logging in again (I'm
trying to get rid of the RHN alert icon).

Product: should be updated to 'gnome-session'
Comment 5 Sebastien Bacher 2006-05-26 18:56:21 UTC
the product is correct, upstream dialogs come from gnome-panel, the session dialog from Ubuntu is a distro specific change
Comment 6 Joona Palaste 2006-10-30 08:58:40 UTC
I have the same problem, I'm using Gnome 2.14 in Fedora Core 5. Gnome 2.8 in Fedora Core 3 asked me if I wanted to save the session information, but in Gnome 2.14 I can't find any way to do so.
Comment 7 Vincent Untz 2007-02-18 01:52:44 UTC
We won't add this checkbox back. You can choose to automatically save on logout, or use gnome-session-properties which now have a button to save the current session.
Comment 8 Lloyd D Budd 2007-02-18 02:11:39 UTC
Vincent, then has The Session preferences dialog option "Ask on logout" has been removed? Some action was necessary to resolve the issue, one way or the other.
