This would have saved all the mails in that box for offline use.

Yes, because, once a folder is synced for offline use, Evolution will not delete, already, synced messages. So, even if you go online and remove the "mark for offline" option, those messages will be accessible in offline.

IMO, the contents of the "new messages" in the folder that are received after removing "mark for offline" option, shouldn't be displayed.

@Vandana: Can you verify whether ^^^ happens? If so, I would mark this bug as NOT A BUG.
Comment 5 Vandana 2006-06-28 05:45:57 UTC
Even after removing "mark for offline" option, the messages that are received get displayed in offline mode...

Bumping version to a stable release.

NotABug, from my point of view. Even you do not have downloaded whole folder, you can access at least messages you already viewed, rather than see all or nothing. I believe that's a plus. The option in account preferences (or on the folder itself) is there to predownload messages for offline, not to disable folder in offline completely. Also, in IMAP, the folder records changes and applies them when you go online, thus you can add new messages into any IMAP folder in offline, and when you connect to the server the message is uploaded as well.
