Description Loïc Minier 2006-02-01 00:38:11 UTC
Hi,

When setting /desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_key_theme to Emacs, text entry widgets will allow ^A and ^E for beginning-of- and end-of-line.

However, in the search field of Rhythmbox, this won't work and sound-juicer will be launched instead.

The HIG says the application should not override such bindings when the widget has focus:
http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gup/hig/2.0/input-keyboard.html#additional-widget-navigation

(This is Debian bug http://bugs.debian.org/262004.)

Cheers,

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

The bug states that either menu shortcuts or keybindings have to take precence, and for several reasons menu shortcuts do.
