Description Bart Vanbrabant 2006-01-30 21:15:08 UTC
I put my lcd screen to sleep after 5 min to spare the backlight. But I also use
my notebook to watch tv and dvd/movies. It would be nice if gnome-power-manger
detects programs like mythtv, mplayer, totem, xine to be running and don't put
the display to sleep.

GNOME power manager will have a DBUS interface like gnome screensaver so that programs can prevent gpm from putting the LCD screen to sleep a similar interface should be prevent suspending. That's being discussed in bug 326644

So I'm marking this bug as a duplicate.
