GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 328868
Composer crashes Evolution when composing almost any mail
Last modified: 2006-01-27 17:50:24 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 4.91 (Pre-FC5) Package: Evolution Severity: critical Version: GNOME2.13.4 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc Synopsis: Composer crashes Evolution when composing almost any mail Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Bugzilla-Version: unspecified BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.13.0) Description: Description of the crash: I'm using evolution-2.5.4-2 on an fc5t2 machine. I am unable to compose even a simple plain text email message of several lines in length without evo falling over and crashing. Steps to reproduce the crash: 1. Start Evo. 2. Start composing a message. 3. Crash! Expected Results: Composing a mail message should probably not crash the app. How often does this happen? Every message I've tried sending so far. I can actually send the messages if I restart and recover, and I don't lose more than a paragraph or two of text each time, but it turns sending a five-line message into an epic of loss and redemption. Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evolution-2.6' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1". (no debugging symbols found) `shared object read from target memory' has disappeared; keeping its symbols. Bryan, any chance you could update to the latest development release 2.5.5.1?
I'm somewhat tied to whatever is in Fedora rawhide, at the very least, and it's still on 2.5.4.
