GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 327490
Keyboard shortcuts do not work in gedit.
Last modified: 2006-07-07 02:46:18 UTC
Please describe the problem: Keyboard shortcuts like <Alt>+F is not invoking the file menu Steps to reproduce: 1. Invoke gedit. 2. Press Alt+F/E.. Actual results: bservation: The menus do not get invoked (say,Alt+F should invoke File menu) Expected results: It should invoke the file menu. Does this happen every time? Other information: It is not reproducible in head build on FC3. But it is reproducible in opensolaris.
as you note yourself it works just fine here on linux. If this is a bug on our side we'll need help from solaris people. Though it look more likely that's a bug either in the solaris build or in the gtk package or something like that.
Any news on this problem? Are you able to use shortcuts in other gnome applications?
It looks a lot like the problem I was having with my keyboard shortcuts not working because Emacs key theme support was recently fixed to be more complete. (bug #150059 and bug #330609)
Biswa: which locale are you using?
