Launched evolution. Disconnected Desktop from network, goto 'Contact view', select GAL. In search field, type some contact and click on find. Status bar shows searching forever. After a long time connect desktop to network, search result is returned.

Bug is connector is trying to connect to server in offline.

Happens only when disconnector from network and not when
user switches to offline.
gal_reconnect() gets called in a loop.

Can this be committed to stable branch? If so, can you please commit it and close the bug?

No any bug filed in GAL and offline case in stable branch.
And offline handling is completely changed in 2.5.x and
so putting these fixes in 2.4.x, needs re-testing.

So I am committing only the important fixes there.
