Description David Prieto 2006-01-02 12:50:14 UTC
Copying files to a USB device takes place when you unmount the device. This
takes some time AFTER giving the order to unmount it. However, the USB icon on
the desktop disappears right away, leaving the user no way to know that the
device is still busy.

This is a VERY SERIOUS usability issue, since often files which were supposed to
be copied to the USB can't be found because the device was extracted while copying.

To fix this situation, I think the USB icon should disappear only when the
device has finished all pending operations, that is when it is actually
unmounted and can be safely extracted.

Thank you for your time.
