Even though I was very skeptical about this before, I learnt to like the layout
Outlook is now using. The simple reason for this is, that it is more compact and
involves less scrolling because the emails are vertically displayed. It also
feels more natural to view text in that format.

hi david,

i have no idea what you're talking about until you give me 500euro to buy an outlook (just kidding). ;-)

can you please provide a screenshot (not containing any confidential data)?

or is this a duplicate of bug 262742? :-/

;) Gibt's nicht!

But I've found a nice screenshot at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/images/outlook/prodinfo/outlooklarge.gif (also attached)
This is similar to bug 262742, but the important part of this report is not the vertical alignment, but how the Subjects, Sender and other flags are grouped. Instead of displaying them just in a row the information is organised vertically and horizontally which saves quite some space.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2005-12-31 20:28:25 UTC
okay.... *schmoll* ;-)

hmm. i like that screenshot.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2006-01-03 13:04:41 UTC
changing summary so i can find it when searching for it ;-)
Comment 5 Phill Gillespie 2006-03-19 22:29:45 UTC
Is this grouping bug a dupe or does no one else care about it? Along with 262742 it's the only two things keeping my company with TB.

Bumping version to a stable release.
Comment 7 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:13:06 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
