Description of Problem:
If an instance of gnome-terminal is already open and I attempt to start
a new instance of gnome-terminal from a desktop and/or menu shortcut it
causes the old one to hang and the new one does not start. I have to
kill the old instance to be able to start gnome-terminal again. 

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. start gnome-terminal 
2. start a new instance of gnome-terminal from a shortcut
3. 

Actual Results:
Program hangs until killed

Expected Results:
A new instance of gnome-terminal

How often does this happen?
Every time

Additional Information:
I can start a new instance of gnome-terminal from xterm without any
problems.
