Description Benoît Dejean 2005-12-28 16:08:19 UTC
Hi,
in nautilus to delete a file : CTRL+T
in evolution mailer : CTRL+D

It would be nice to have the same command to trash messages and files.
Thanks.
Comment 1 André Klapper 2005-12-29 12:57:43 UTC
in nautilus, ctrl+t stands for trash, whilst ctrl+d is adding a bookmark.
ctrl+t in evolution's mailer is threading view.

to me this is a WONTFIX, though i think you're right, but in both applications, those shortcuts haven't been changed for quite some time and people are used to it. :-/
Comment 2 André Klapper 2005-12-29 12:58:05 UTC
why not use "del"? ;-)
Comment 3 Benoît Dejean 2005-12-29 13:05:44 UTC
My ibook doesn't have a [Del] key, only a [Backspace] :)
So i'm pretty happy with nautilus CTRL+T or else i won't be able to trash files (backspace open parent window :)
Comment 4 André Klapper 2005-12-31 20:59:39 UTC
uhm, i wasn't aware of the fact that ibooks don't have a del key. is hould consider this when reworking on the shortcuts, thanks for the info. :-)
Comment 5 André Klapper 2006-01-17 12:59:06 UTC
benoît: isn't shift+backspace the same as delete (talked to someone on irc telling me this)? so to me this becomes a wontfix. :-/
Comment 6 Matthew Barnes 2012-06-17 20:12:50 UTC
Nowadays, Ctrl+T in Nautilus opens a new tab and the Delete shortcut changed to Ctrl+Delete which I hate. So the consistency argument is lost.

Ctrl+D is a more intuitive shortcut for Delete Message anyway.

Closing as WONTFIX.
