Description Marcin Antczak 2005-12-25 01:32:37 UTC
Currently when I try to copy some file or folder with nautilus I open two
nautilus windows - and usually there is a situation when one window is over another.

So I cannot see full content of window that is not active at the moment.

And this causes few strange behaviours that I consider as bug.

Examples:

1. Two windows - "a" active - "b" inactive - "b" is partially visible because
"a" covers most of it.

and let's imagine that "b" is in "list view mode" so if I keep cursor over this
window when dragging something from "a" - then after a little while folders in
window "b" expands so I can drop something into 1....n level subfolder.

But because of that window "b" is inactive then I cannot sometimes _even see_
what is the name of the foler I want to drop...

2. Another example is that if I got two windows both in "icon view" mode.
Then I can drop something into visible - but empty - area of my target ("b") window.

But I also can drop something into folder in "b" window....
unfortunately only in folder that is in _visible_ part of "b" window.

So my ferature request is:

In my opinion d&d operation should give temporary "focus" to target window after
a while... just like expanding folders feature when dragging something to window
in "list view" mode.

Of course it shouldn't give focus without any delay because it could be
confusing but after a little while it should consider that user wants to see
_whole_ droppable area not only the part that is currently visible.
