Description Jean-Paul POZZI 2005-12-23 13:21:30 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Hello,

since a week I can't access the LDAP addressbook it close giving a message
each time I go to the "contact" screen.
Here is the message (french version) :

Erreur de chargement du carnet d'adresses.

Impossible d'ouvrir ce carnet d'adresses. Vous avez saisi un URI incorrect ou le
serveur LDAP n'est pas accessible.

I can't access the parameter as each I put the mice pointer on the LDAP
the message box pops up ... I am unable to see or even modify the parameters.
The LDAP server is OK (I access it from other machines/applications).

Steps to reproduce:
1. go on the "contact" screen
2. That's all folks
3. each time you right click on the LDAP server you get the same
   message.

Actual results:
It is impossible to access the addressbook and even impossible to look at
or modify the parameters.

Expected results:
Normal access to the address book

Does this happen every time?
Yes since a week

Other information:
I had other bugs about the access to the LDAP addressbook, it is
impossible to modify the data since many months.

can you run e-d-s and evolution from different consoles and
paste the log messages here?
Which version of evolution you are using?
Comment 2 Jean-Paul POZZI 2006-01-13 23:12:50 UTC
I can't reproduce ... as I get a newer version :
Gnome evolution-2.4 2.4.2.1
All is now working, I can access the LDAP server and return to
the main screen.

The read access is OK to LDAP server and even the write access is now OK (it was
broken since months).

Regards

JP Pozzi
