GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 324712
Nautilus Tree view doesn't accept backgrounds
Last modified: 2011-02-03 23:52:14 UTC
Please describe the problem: In Nautilus, the background of icon views can be set by dragging and dropping from the "Backgrounds and Emblems" dialog. However, this doesn't work for tree views. They are always displayed in the GNOME default style. Steps to reproduce: 1. In Nautilus, click View->List view. 2. Open Edit->Backgrounds and Emblems. 3. Drag a background to the list view. Actual results: List view background stays the default. Expected results: List view background is changed according to the selected color or picture. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: I guess this is because the GtkTreeView can't be styled (apart from the general GNOME skinning). I guess the desired behaviour would be not so easy to implement for background bitmaps.
Confirmed with Nautilus 2.12.1 on Ubuntu Breezy.
Hi, background and emblems have been entirely removed from nautilus 2.90+. This bug should be closed.
Resolving bug as obsolete, as Stefano Teso suggests. Once there was a time when I thought this would be a neat feature...
