GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 324509
Evolution crashes during startup.
Last modified: 2013-09-13 00:56:24 UTC
Evolution from CVS Head crashes quite often for me. This usually happens the first time launched. Every other times Evolution gets started it works - this is quite annoying and must be fixed. I have local pop3 mailbox files on my system. And here the backtrace. Sadly I don't have the symbols anymore - which is quite problematic but I hope that this backtrace already gives enough information to look at the problem. Backtrace was generated from '/usr/local/bin/evolution' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1". I had similar crashers in those days, but now they seem to be gone. Can you still reproduce this Ali?
Greetings! Sorry for the big delay, but I've been busy with my new job and thus hadn't had time dealing with all this. I now had time last weekend to compile a new GNOME from CVS and I so far can confirm that this problem still exists. And to add something on top. I also get crashes during exit. So to sum it up, I should have mentioned that one as well in the past but I didn't. Evolution quite often crashes on start and exit and it still does with latest build from CVS 2nd April 2006.
