Comment 2 Doug Berger 2005-12-27 15:03:51 UTC
My Win XP version of GIMP was crashing on "new" file selection too and I used the work around noted in bug 314529 and it seems to have cleared up the issue. I had updated gtk+ (using the version 2.6.9 rev a that was on the GIMP site) and GIMP at the same time. I updated to gtk+ 2.6.10 rev a that was mentioned in the previous bug report.
Comment 3 Michael Schumacher 2005-12-27 16:39:46 UTC
There are no "rev a" versions on the GIMP site, see http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=121075&package_id=132255

Thanks for your feedback, this allows me to resolve this report.
