Steps to reproduce:
When I restart dbus (for example, when upgrading), the battery applet crashes
and needs to be restarted.

Oops, it doesn't crash, it exits with status 1.  Effectively the same from a
user's perspective.

This is already known about.  Fixing it is very low priority since dbus isn't
meant to be restarted and any correct way to fix it would require support from
dbus upstream (ie: a mechanism in the library).
