Problem with evolution-exchange plug in
Last modified: 2006-05-12 06:56:15 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. Having an exchange 2003 server / Windows LDAP environement 2. Echanage 2003 OWA is configure to use plain text password with SSL (so owa is accessible with http://emailserver.mycompany.com 3. the user name is mycompany\username because exchange is not an ldap server only a member Stack trace: Other information: Hi, I have a projet to use Linux Suse 10 in my Windows network. The first goal is to use an email client that can be used with my exchange 2003 server. The linux suse 10 is up to date, also all components of Evolotion. This Linux Workstation is not an ldap client. So I have Evolution installed and I am startin to setup my email account as follow : In the configuration menu (Mail account) Full Name : Aaa Bbb (first name, Last name) Email Address : AaaB@myemailserver.mycompany.com (note : my email address is Aaa.Bbb@mycompany.com or AaaB@mycompany.com but I use AaaB@myemailserver.mycompany.com like described in the doc) Receiving mail I choose (MS Exchange) (a popup error says that could not rad out of office state) username : AaaB (the same I use in windows xp for login) OWA Url : https://myemailserver.mydomain.com/AaaB/ Note : My server use a certificate to encrypt the session, I have put the certificate in Evolution (root CA) Authentification type plain text (this is how is setup IIS in the exchange box) Every time I try to authenticate, I have a password prompt and the application hang without any errors. It seems that there is no login attemps on the exchange side .. Maybe my config is not good somewhere can you describe how to correctly setup evolution-exchange Note that in the documentation it refer to the novell web site to look for information in their knowledge base about how to configure exchange to work with evolution but I can't find it). Any help, advice could be very appreciated here
Hi, When I attempt to log on with evo, my web server on the email server (IIS) gives an HTTP error code 500
Wrong out of office error message is fixed now. About the setting up exchange account, You need to enter the user name and OWA url as you provide to Outlook Web Access. Can you tell me what user name and owa url you input in OWA?
Hi, the username is like : mydomain.com\username (RomainP) owa url : https://myemailserver/exchange note that I have tested different username / url like https://emailserver.mydoamin.com/exchange/myusername and still have the same problem Note also that I have imported the root certificate in evo because it is an ssl session
"mydomain.com\username" is what you give in OWA also? Can you try "mydomain\username" ? "username" in login id and "myusername" in OWA URL have the same value (RomainP) or different values?
> "mydomain.com\username" is what you give in OWA also? - Yes, I use that in forefox to log on >Can you try "mydomain\username" ? - without the .com ? My domain name is mydomain.com (or mydomain_inc) > "username" in login id and "myusername" in OWA URL have the same value (RomainP) or different values? - those are the same, yes
I don't know if it can help but on my webserver logs (IIS) I have that : 2005-12-12 16:33:38 192.168.254.160 mydomain.com\usera 205.205.247.80 443 POLL /exchange/usera/Inbox - 207 Mozilla/4.0+(compatible;+MSIE+6.0;+Windows+NT+5.1;+SV1;+.NET+CLR+1.1.4322) --> see that above a successful connection with IE 2005-12-12 16:33:47 205.205.247.118 - 205.205.247.80 443 GET /exchange/romainp - 401 Evolution/1.4.2.1 --> here the failed one with evo, as you can see, a string is missing (between the source and destination address)
Can you set E2K_DEBUG=4 in a console, run evolution and try to set an exchange account and paste the trace here? You can modify the details like machine information etc.
Please re-open the bug with the traces. And also if possible try the latest stable version 2.6.x.
