Works fine for me. Did you check if there are other bug reports (search for
closed ones, too) with the same symptom?

Set to NEEDINFO in order to get a reply to my question from the bug reporter.
Comment 2 Daniel Brunthaler 2005-12-10 12:18:46 UTC
Seems, this is a general problem in my environment (Windows XP). The crash has
nothing to do with the width and height settings (and probably any other). Gimp
chrashes always on my systm, when creating a new image. And in the meantime i
encountered some other circumstances also, which cause a crahs.
When i installed Gimp, it worked fine, but meanwhile i installed lot of other
software (also GTK related). Guess, this made my system somewhat instable.
Big sorry for the inconvenience. I should have tested it a bit more.

This is probably another instance of problems caused by the bad version of Gtk+
that Gaim distributes. Try removing that one (if you have it) and installing
the Gtk+ from the sourceforge site where you got GIMP, and see if that solves
the problem for you.

Thank you very much for that info. You were completely right, i installed Gaim
and Gtk+ distributed with it some time ago.
I now removed and reinstalled Gtk+ (from sourceforge) and GIMP works fine again.

So this is a duplicate of the infamous Gaim GTK+ crasher bug 314529. Resolving
as a duplicate.
