Description Michael Matson 2005-12-02 01:03:44 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 3 (Heidelberg)
Package: Evolution
Severity: normal
Version: GNOME2.8.0 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: Does not display free/busy information during event scheduling
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: libical
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
Description:
Description of Problem: Evolution will not display user or URL listed
ical "free/busy" schedules, even though the files exist (you can click
on the URL and see the ical free/busy file".

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Add a "free/busy" URL to a contact.
2. Click file/new/meeting
3. Add contact from 1. to the attendee list
4. Click scheduling tab:

Actual Results: Note that contact shows "no information". Note also that
your own information is either missing or incorrectly listed. (i.e.,
listed on wrong time/date or both)(Note that for the purposes of testing
this bug, the URL was displayed by clicking the icon to the right of the
attendee's "free/busy" URL on the contact's personal information card.

Expected Results: Free/busy information for the meeting scheduler should
be displayed as appropriate. Attendees with valid Ical ICS files at
valid URLs should also be appropriately displayed.

How often does this happen? Consistently. I have not been able to get
the free/busy information to display at all!

Additional Information: Note that for the purposes of testing this bug,
the validity of the test attendee's free/busy URL was tested by clicking
on the display icon to the right of the contact's "free/busy" URL on
their "Personal Information" card.

Also, the Ical free/busy server used is Ical's own at http://icalx.com

Comment 1 André Klapper 2005-12-02 13:12:59 UTC
michael, which evolution version is this? 2.0.x is not maintained anymore and i
would recommend to update to a current version like 2.4.x where lots of these
issues have been fixed.

setting to NEEDINFO, please REOPEN when answering.
Comment 2 Michael Matson 2005-12-03 17:55:45 UTC
Andre,

I'm running the latest version available on the mirror: v2.09.4. In fact, I
upgraded because of this bug. If there's a v2.4.x available, it's not available
on the Fedora Core mirror for some reason.
Comment 3 Michael Matson 2005-12-03 23:54:31 UTC
There was a typo in my last comment. Unfortunately, Bugzilla won't let me reopen
as you requested, even though I'm the reportee. <shrug> Anyway, the version is
2.0.4, *NOT* 2.09.4. Sorry.

Anyway, I will attempt to find v2.4xx or v2.5.x
Comment 4 Michael Matson 2005-12-04 18:28:09 UTC
Note: There IS no build of evolution v2.4x for FC3. Is this an oversite?
Comment 5 André Klapper 2005-12-13 18:35:29 UTC
ok, adding version info, thanks for answering (and sorry that it took me a week).
errmm... FedoraCore builds are NOT done by the evolution community, so this is
not an oversite of us. :-)
Comment 6 Elijah Newren 2006-06-05 23:01:03 UTC
Display the information in the wrong timezone (a sidenote in the original comment) is filed as bug 342838; not displaying the information is filed as bug 269155 (and maybe bug 273560 too?). I'll mark as a dupe of the latter.

Set component to libical under Evolution Data Server where they should belong to.
