GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 322665
deskbar-applet does not unhide panel when getting focus
Last modified: 2005-12-02 01:13:09 UTC
Version details: 0.8.5 Distribution/Version: Ubuntu Dapper Forwarded from: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/deskbar-applet/+bug/4873 In order to reduce screen clutter I put the deskbar-applet into a horizontal gnome panel of its own. The panel is normally hidden and slides out from the side only when needed. When the applet gets the focus by using the assigned shortcut the panel remains hidden, though. The desired behaviour would be the applet telling the panel to unhide when focus is received, and (symmetrically) telling the panel to hide again (if hidden before) after a short delay when focus is lost.
Can confirm on Ubuntu Breezy. Note that this bug is when the panel is set to "Show hide buttons" - i.e. manual hiding, not autohiding. Autohide seems to work fine with the keyboard shortcut. I'm marking as a duplicate of gnome-panel bug #89180, which itself is related to bug #81041 (but the latter seems to be concerned more with getting the hidden panel to pop on Ctrl-Alt-Tabbing rather than popping on focus). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 89180 ***
