GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 321521
Open each folder in the same window
Last modified: 2008-07-14 23:22:42 UTC
Hi, By (Debian) default Nautilus opens each folder in it's own window (Windows 95 style). I would like to see a "open each folder in the same window" option and have it enabled by default.
Thanks for your bug report! In spatial mode, you're meant to use the middle-click to close the existing window, and in browser mode the same window will be used on location change. This combination has proven to be very useful for almost all users.
> This combination has proven to be very useful for almost all users. But what usefulness does the W95-style behaviour have? The common case (>99%) is (I think) opening a folder in the current window so I think that should be assigned to the left mutton as users expect. The middle-button could then be used to open in a new window.
... forgot to reopen.
Closing as a duplicate of bug 427628 as that one has a patch to make browser mode default. Thanks for the bug report.
